Ephesians Project

The Call

Poets, visual artists, musicians, writers, actors, dancers, and all creatives of every age and skill level - we invite you to drink deeply from our series in Ephesians and to respond with creative works. We want to see God's glory in the church and the immeasurable greatness of His power at work in us! What are you seeing in Ephesians and how might you give expression to that through creative arts? Let's imagine together, share ideas, and talk about projects you are working on as we experience the manifold wisdom of God. At the end of our series in November, we'll celebrate the way the Lord has revealed Himself.

Check back here for more information about how the project is progressing. Also, visit our Facebook community at facebook.com/pg/ephesiansprojectcccmontreat.

The Story

How do we savor a meal? By sitting leisurely through each course, lingering over the tastes, textures, and smells of the food. How do we understand a painting? By gazing extensively, studying each expression, and pondering the nuances.

As we move through the book of Ephesians, how can we internalize truth so that it changes us? By responding creatively to what the Holy Spirit speaks to us, for the praise of His glory, and the edification of the church.

You don't have to consider yourself an artist to be creative. As image bearers, we all have capacity for creativity, and more so, a calling to create. When we are moving in creativity, we are functioning in one of the many ways God has designed us.

Over the next months, we challenge you to dig into a word, a verse, a concept of Ephesians and then respond to that truth through some creative medium. Pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to stir up creative works so that you - and the church - may know Him better. The possibilities are endless: painting, scultping, drawing, collage, dance, musical composition, poetry, assemblage, quilting, mosaic, word art, story, drama...or something else!

Let's join together and make a community of creative worshippers! As you begin, please let Sondra Kraak know. She will connect you with other Ephesians Project participants and include the worship committee in lifting you up in prayer.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better."
