A Little About Us...

Where do you meet?

We worship in Graham Chapel, formerly Gaither Chapel, on the campus of Montreat College. The physical address is 310 Gaither Circle, but because the chapel is located in the heart of the campus parking can be a challenge. If you park in the lot directly behind the Montreat College sign, just look for the CCCM flags or a friendly face to guide you.

Our Children and Youth Ministries meet in our offices located in the Henry Christian Education Building.

What are your worship services like?

At 8:30 am we worship in a contemporary style. The music is lead by a praise team and we sing music ranging from current contemporary Christian music to the great hymns of our faith written in a more modern style.

At 11 am we offer a more traditional service that features classical hymns as well as contemporary hymns. We follow a more liturgical style.

What ever service style you prefer, content is key. The same message is preached in both services, and in every aspect of our worship we express praise and thank God for His gift of salvation.

How do people dress?

On any given week you’ll find us dressed in anything from the suit your grandfather wore to church every Sunday to casual shorts and shirts. We’re not concerned with dress, only with relationships.

When was Christ Community Church Montreat established?

In 1897 Christ Community Church began as “Montreat Wayside Covenant of Christian Fellowship” a group composed of those moving into the Montreat Cove either year round or seasonally. In 1902 the name was changed to “Montreat Church of Montreat, North Carolina.” In 1906, when the interdenominational retreat center was purchased by the Presbyterian Church, U.S. (southern Presbyterian), the name was changed to “Montreat Presbyterian Church.” In 2012, we changed our name to “Christ Community Church Montreat.”  We’re a church with a rich history as well as a new beginning.

Are you a part of any denomination?

Yes. Since 2007, we have been associated with The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a denomination founded in 1981. This is a growing denomination of people committed to spreading the message of Jesus throughout the world. Check out their website.
