What do you think of when you hear the word “idol?” Do you agree or disagree that idols are often a good thing that has become an ultimate thing? Name some examples of this (generally speaking or in your own life).
Consider the “tests” for idolatry mentioned: examining where your money and time go or considering whether losing something would go beyond “normal sorrow” to “total devastation.” Is there anything like that in your life?
How can we worship God outside of Sunday morning? At work? At home? In our favorite hobbies?
What do you think worship in heaven is going to be like? How might we begin worshipping like that here and now?
