Youth Ministry for 6th – 12th Grades at CCCM

Discipleship IN COMMUNITY

Equipping STUDENTS In Faith

We believe that our students share in the same call that Christ has for all his Church. We aim to equip students for the work of ministry and to see that ministry take shape in our community, our city, and our world.

More than Just Students

People over Programs

We seek to prioritize relationships over events. We want all the people to come to our events. For parents and adults, we want you to become involved as a volunteer. For students who have never been to church, come and enjoy the fellowship of friends and peers.

Whether through our monthly partnership with LOT Ministries in Asheville, through Youth Sunday, or through Summer Mission projects, we put students in places to do the work of ministry. They are called into something so much better than just receiving what others do for them. We seek to function as the hands and feet of Christ and bring the Gospel to the world.

Letting Students Lead

Luke has a degree in Pastoral Ministry as well as an M. Div. from Anderson University. He has been serving in ministry in all kinds of capacities since 2015.

A note from the Director of Youth Ministry

One day, perhaps years from now, a student will hear a diagnosis, a rejection, or face an unexpected loss—it is this version of a student that holds my focus. On that day, memories of an exciting youth program will serve no purpose, but things that will help are a personal relationship with Jesus, relationships with godly people through His church, and a deep grounding in God’s Word. It is my goal to equip students to face every hardship and every triumph with the same grounded realities of our relationship with Christ.

Study

Join us Sunday mornings (9:45-10:45am) and Wednesday evenings (6-8pm) to study God’s Word together! We meet on the 4th floor of the Henry Building.

Serve

One Wednesday a month, we use our time together to go into the community to serve through our Invisible Hands ministry. And one Saturday morning a month, we go downtown Asheville and serve breakfast to the homeless through LOT (Least of These) Ministry. We also try to take a mission trip each summer.

Community

We also love to have fun! Our Wednesday evenings always have some sort of game and fellowship time, and we also try to plan at least one fun outing per semester.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do you meet?

We meet for regular Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings on the 4th floor of the Henry Building (396 Geneva Place). There is parking all along Geneva Place, and also direct access and limited parking to the 4th floor via South Carolina Terrace.

  • Does my family have to attend church at CCCM to participate?

No. Anyone is welcome to join us whether your family attends CCCM, another local church, or not at all. If your family is looking for a church home, we welcome them to check us out on a Sunday morning.

  • Is there food?

We always serve food at youth events!

  • Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost to participate on Sunday mornings. We do ask for a $5 donation for food on Wednesday nights to help cover costs, except in the case of first-time guests. Our trips do have additional costs dependent on the event. Scholarships are always available. Please do not let finances prevent you from participating!

  • How do you communicate with youth and parents?

We use weekly email updates to parents to keep you in the loop. We also have an optional emergency texting service that allows us to send out last-minute cancellation notices or final reminders. (We promise not to spam you!)

Meet our Youth Ministry Team!

Luke has been at CCCM since 2022. He and his wife Ashley welcomed their first child in June 2026. Luke and Sammy (dog) are both "outside dogs" with too many hobbies, golfing and fishing being the top two. The Ozmint family loves caring for students at church and in their home.

Marcella has served in CCCM's youth ministry since 2008 and is a huge fan of spending time with friends and family, especially combined with the great outdoors. She drives a red truck, loves her dog Vinny, and is usually the one spearheading all the food and funtivities!
